Qualifying Results and Starting Lineups – Midwest Spring Nationals

The good news about qualifying is that nobody can run into you during your single-car run.

Joe Trickle, free to spend two laps on Rockford Speedway (IL) without fear Charlotte Bowey would run into him, claimed the pole for the Midwest Spring Nationals. Trickle lapped the quarter-mile in 13.486 seconds, bouncing back from a DNF at Kern County Raceway Park after an incident with Bowey on pit road.

Joining Trickle on the front row is another bounce-back candidate, Kevin Keselowski. Keselowski suffered a mechanical failure during the B-Main at Kern County’s River Ranger 75, failing to make the A-Main.

With a smaller track, only 23 cars will partake in tomorrow’s A-Main. Thus, the B-Main has a stacked field of drivers looking for the final eight spots in the grid. Kern County winner Pushkin, as well as two drivers in the top five in STSC points (Wes Winston and Jack Stevens) headline the B-Main roster.

There are also two top-ten drivers in the C-Main, and they will be coming from the last two spots on the grid. Red Clifford (eighth in points) and Dave Lake (sixth in points) qualified 44th and 45th out of the 45 cars on the premises, and will have to work their way to the front to partake in the B-Main.

 1. Sigh. I don’t have my normal target on my track for this race, then. At least in the LCQ. Who volunteers as tribute this time around for the Bowey crash test?

 2. NaNa and Wert have now made 3 straight A Mains, and are league leaders in sponsor money. Perez is on track for his 3rd top 10, and is an early candidate to win it all for the season.

 3. New track New attitude looking forward as Qualifing starts …then mediocrity hits as you tumble down the leader board finally resting 28th ..So B main starting at ”LUCKY” #13 …Man that ”NEW” wore off fast.
